As a member of the UN High-level Advisory Board on Economic and Social Affairs (HLAB), Martin Kimani joined HLAB's two-day May 2025 meeting in Bangkok and its public-facing conclusion, a Global Policy Dialogue on "Converging Crises, Shared Solutions: Applying Socioeconomic Lessons from Asia-Pacific to Global Challenges," convened by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs with the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). He was a panelist in the dialogue's first discussion, where the programme's guiding questions assigned him one on what lessons Asia-Pacific's growing diplomatic and economic role holds for strengthening developing countries' influence in global decision-making.
