Martin Kimani, then Kenya's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, attended and spoke at the Oslo Forum 2022, the annual retreat for senior mediators and peacemakers co-hosted by Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue. Held in Oslo on June 21-22, 2022 under the theme "Spaces for dialogue in a polarised world," the retreat convened participants including UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo, African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security Bankole Adeoye, three former African heads of state, and senior mediators and negotiators working on Ukraine, Yemen, Ethiopia, Libya, and Venezuela.
