Kenya assures of security ahead of UN environment meet
Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN-Habitat
Ahead of the United Nations Environment Programme's inaugural UN Environment Assembly, Martin Kimani, Kenya's Permanent Representative to UNEP, publicly assured the international community that Nairobi was secure for the more than 100 ministers expected to attend.
"They have nothing to fear... let those who wish us harm know that they are far from winning the war," Kimani said, drawing a parallel to international solidarity after the September 11 attacks.
