As Director of Kenya's National Counter-Terrorism Center and the President's Special Envoy for Countering Violent Extremism, Martin Kimani joined a plenary panel on urban resilience and infrastructure at the 2017 Chicago Forum on Global Cities, co-hosted by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and the Financial Times. The panel addressed the infrastructure demands and stakeholder coordination needed for cities to prepare for, and respond to, natural and man-made disasters, alongside Megan Clifford of Argonne National Laboratory, former London police commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe, former FEMA director R. David Paulison, and Direct Relief's Thomas Tighe, moderated by the Financial Times' Andrew Edgecliffe-Johnson.
